  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 lb dried green or brown lentils about 2¼ cups, rinsed
  • 14.5 oz canned diced tomatoes 1 can
  • 4 cups chicken bone broth or regular broth
  • 2 cups water

  • 3 cups kale or spinach chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Regular broth: about 23 g of protein per bowl. Vegan: use vegetable broth and skip the Parmesan, about 21 g.
Cost is about $2 per bowl with bone broth, or about $1.60 with regular broth.
